Question: Will the adapter work in sleep mode or with my Macbook closed? - by Kanex on 05/18/2010

Question: How do I get rid of the black border around the edge of the TV display? - by Kanex on 05/18/2010
Answer: You will want to turn on the overscan function. To do so, go to system preferences, then “displays”, followed by “arrangements” and tick the “overscan” button. This will allow the image to output at full screen. Learn more about this feature on our blog at http://www.kanexlive.com/blog/2009/10/over-and-under-scan-hdtv-1080p.html

Question: My adapter isn’t working properly and the red light is off. Is there a way to reset it? - by Kanex on 05/18/2010
Answer: To obtain the best results, follow the enclosed instructions for set-up - Connect the HDMI cable first to sync to source followed by connecting the Mini DisplayPort for video, and lastly the USB for power. All ports must be plugged in before you power “on” the adapter.

1. MacBook Pro 2. Watching internet television on my TV. 3. Pros I can watch NBC.com and other networks on demand shows on my TV and all the shows I download. Cons The only con with this item is you have to tinker with it sometimes when the audio still only comes through the computer and not the TV. By tinkering I mean you have to pull out one or both of the cords from the computer and plug it and wait until it loads on your screen to see if it will take this time. Unfortunately my audio has been taking to the TV in some time recently.

I use my Kanex Mini DisplayPort HDMI 1080p with USB Audio Adapter with my MacBook Air. I use it to watch Internet TV through Hulu and other sites on my widescreen HD TV. The software I use is Plex and Hulu Desktop for Mac. The adapter works well but it takes a bit of plugging and unplugging to my MacBook each time I use it. I can't close my computer while it's connected and working, which I would like to do. The adapter was too expensive.

1 - Macbook Pro 2 - Used because Apple refused to provide an HDMI output for my HDTV. I purchased two of your HDMI "combiners" to avoid having to run separate wires from two different ports on this computer, which lives in my Home Entertainment Cabinet, to my 55" LCD HDTV. 3- It seems to work, but I haven't been using it because it does not allow the MacBook Pro to go stay "asleep". The result is that the MacBook Pro is ON all the time and generates so much heat that it needs to have its fan on all the time. it gets up to 90 degrees and my concern is that I will burn up the computer if I leave it running in the cabinet with your adapter.
